Two-Storey House with Ethnic Accents
This home was designed for a family with two children — people who value nature, tactility, and objects with a story. From the very beginning, we wanted to create not just a contemporary interior, but a space with soul — warm and authentic.
This led to the idea of a modern interior with subtle ethnic elements, where handcrafted motifs are woven into clean architecture. Ethnicity here is not literal; it is felt through the texture of wood, clay, and textiles, through natural tones and the rhythm of details.
The kitchen and dining area became the heart of the home. The kitchen island is clad in textured panels with a triangular pattern — a contemporary interpretation of traditional motifs. Terracotta, wood, and tiles with clay-toned joints create warmth, while clay pendant lights above the table reference handmade craftsmanship.
In the living room, the theme continues with a fireplace finished in colored tiles, a green sofa, and warm wood. It is a grounded, inviting space for family evenings.
The master bedroom features deep wood tones and soft lighting. A bedside table with embroidered ornamentation adds a subtle link to national traditions. The children’s rooms tell two different stories: one in terracotta hues, the other in green and sand tones with a savanna-inspired wall illustration. Each has its own character.
The bathroom continues the natural theme with terrazzo, small white tiles, leather handles, and warm lighting. Even the walk-in wardrobe is carefully planned down to every centimeter — cozy and functional. This project is about balance — between modernity and authenticity, minimalism and warmth.
